| New this year to Visitation Catholic
School are Family Groups.
What are Family Groups?
Each teacher is assigned between 11 and 12 students. The same group
of students will be in the same Family Group all school year. A
typical Family Group will consist of 1 or 2 students from the same
grade.
What is the purpose of Family Groups?
Students work together on an agreed upon service related art project.
Students also have the opportunity to meet and interact with other
students who they may not usually come into contact with.
When do Family Groups meet?
All Family Groups gather once a month on a determined time by the
faculty. Family Groups meet in their respective Family Group Teacher’s
classroom. Our first Family Group meeting will be on Wednesday,
September 20th at 1:30 pm.
As a parent, can I come and see my child’s Family
Group?
Absolutely, stop by the office and let Rhonda know you are here
before you go to your child’s Family Group classroom.
Are Family Groups replacing the Buddy Program?
No, our popular Buddy Program, where an upper grade is teamed with
a lower grade, will still take place.
